Blue Beetles, that is.
Fall of the Blue Beetle brings back the focus on Batman’s first partner in the series, the Blue Beetle. Not only that, but we get a little more of an insight of the previous Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, his partnership with Batman and how he lost his life during their fight against his uncle’s machines of destruction.
This was also an episode that shows the transition of Jamie Reyes’ mindset from curious (and incredibly naive) guy who involuntarily gained super powers to understanding the makings of a true hero. This kind of development, no matter how cliche it may sound, just strengthens my positive opinion towards the series, as it manages to tell the audience more about Batman’s usual allies instead of only just showing up and doing cool stuff alongside the Dark Knight.
It also made me wish that there would be a complete episode which focuses on an adventure featuring the Ted Kord incarnation of the Blue Beetle alongside Batman – since their team dynamic seems to be the strongest out of all the heroes from what I’ve noticed.
